Credit Validation

Procedure for Validation of Credits obtained from courses taken.

According to the PPGEE Internal Regulations:

Art.20 § 1º The CPG may recognize credits in subjects covered by art. 51 of the General Regulations for Postgraduate Programs in which:

Subjects taken as a Special Student in the PPGEE and in other Postgraduate Programs may be recognized by the CPG, as long as they were taken no more than three years before enrolling as a regular student in the PPGEE.

Subjects taken outside of the PPGEE, and accepted for full credits, must be indicated in the student's Academic Record as “transfer”, demonstrating the evaluation and attendance obtained in the external course and containing the equivalence of number of credits.

Complementary activities that may be developed by the student may also be validated for the purpose of crediting. Regarding the activities that may be accepted and the criteria and requirements for recognition of activities, a table with a list of them is available in Complementary Standard No. 7.

For courses taken in other Postgraduate Programs, up to a maximum of 40% of the total credits required for the completion of the courses may be validated as external credits. With the authorization of the responsible advisor and at the discretion of the CPG.
