Credit Validation

Procedure for Validation of Credits obtained from Stricto Sensu graduate courses accredited by CAPES

According to the PPGEE Internal Regulations:

Art. 23 - Credits obtained in stricto sensu graduate courses accredited by CAPES may be validated, subject to CPG approval.

1st- A student who requests credit transfer must present proof that he/she has passed the course, syllabus and number of hours of the course, and other information that the CPG deems necessary to certify the validity of the transfer.
2nd - Up to a maximum of 40% of the total credits required for fulfilling the Master's courses may be used, provided that the courses were attended no more than 2 (two) years before enrolling in the program.
3rd - To establish the equivalence of credits taken at other institutions, the CPG must carefully analyze the contents, structures and hours of activities included in the courses, considered on a case-by-case basis.
4th - At the CPG's discretion, all courses taken, as a special student, in the program itself may be recognized, provided that the courses were attended no more than 2 (two) years before enrolling in the program as a regular student.

The procedures for requesting credit validation are:

Courses taken in other Graduate Programs:
To request the recognition of credits, the student must send the following to the PPGEE Administration (ppgee@ufscar.br):

- letter to CPG, following the model;

- proof issued by the Graduate Program in which the student took the course(s) containing the name of the course, attendance, grade, period and number of hours and course syllabus.

Notes:

I. For courses whose number of credits is less than 10, the Administration will forward this documentation to the Coordination, which together with the faculty members of the line of research in which the student is participating, must issue a report on the adequate number of credits that can be used.
II. This consultation on the number of credits that may be used in PPGEE, in case the CPG approves it, may be requested by the student, before taking the course, by an e-mail sent to ppgee@ufscar.br.

After approval by the CPG, the PPGEE Administration will be in charge of updating the student's registration in the ProPGWeb, including the weight of the transferred credits.

Courses taken as a special student at PPGEE:
To request the validation of credits, the student must send an e-mail to the PPGEE Administration (ppgee@ufscar.br):

- a letter to CPG, according to the model.

After approval by CPG, the PPGEE Administration will be in charge of updating the student's registration in the ProPGWeb.
