Inclusion of Co-advisor

Co-orientation Indication Procedure

According to the PPGEE Internal Regulations:

Art. 9 - The holder of a doctoral degree may, at the request of the advisor, be recognized as a co-advisor of a dissertation, in the following circumstances:

I. the interdisciplinary nature of the dissertation, requiring the partial guidance of 1 (one) specialist in an area other than that of the advisor's domain;

II. the advisor's prolonged absence, requiring his/her replacement by a faculty member with equivalent qualifications, for the execution of the dissertation project;

III. the execution of the dissertation project in another institution, with more than 1 (one) responsible person for the orientation;

IV. provision in the Cotutela or international cooperation agreements.

Art. 10 - The co-orientation will observe the following procedures:

I. the recognition will be made by the CPG, without a formal accreditation process;

II. the co-advisor will have the same responsibility as the advisor and may, at the discretion of the CPG, participate in the Dissertation Examining Board.

To make the request, the Co-orientation Inclusion Request Form and a copy of the form Registration Form (in the case of a faculty member outside the PPGEE) must be sent to ppgee@ufscar.br, containing the justification based on the circumstances provided for in Art. 9 of the PPGEE Internal Regulations, and the signatures of the student, advisor and co-advisor.
