Request for Extension of Regimental Term

Procedure and rules for Requesting Additional Time for curricular components.

According to Article 14 of the Internal Regulations:

Observing the determinations of the General Regulations of the UFSCar Postgraduate Programs, the regularly enrolled student may request the PPGEE coordination to extend the deadlines defined for the completion of each of the curricular components.

  • The minimum number of credits in subjects must be completed within 518 (five hundred and eighteen) days, from the date of enrollment of the student in the PPGEE, totaling at least 40 (forty) credits in subjects.
  • Regular students of the Master's degree in Electrical Engineering must pass a qualifying exam within 365 (three hundred and sixty-five) days from the date of enrollment in the PPGEE.
  • The regular student of the Master's course in Electrical Engineering must submit the original version of the Dissertation within 700 (seven hundred) days from the date of enrollment in the PPGEE.
  • The regular student of the Master's course in Electrical Engineering must be approved by an examining board in a public defense of the Dissertation, within 730 (seven hundred and thirty) days, from the date of the student's enrollment in the PPGEE.

To request an extension of the deadline, the student must submit a form containing a substantiated justification, preferably through the presentation of documents, and must receive the approval of the supervisor.
